Ahed Tamimi

90x90 cm - Acrylic & spray paint on canvas

Ahed is a Palestinian activist from Nabi Saleh in the occupied West Bank. As a child, she rose to global prominence for confronting Israeli soldiers during weekly demonstrations, and a video of her slapped a soldier who had shot her cousin in the head, went viral, which led to her imprisonment at the age of sixteen. Despite being in jail, she managed to complete her high school studies. After that incident, she became a symbol of Palestinian resistance for many.

Earlier this month, Ahed was arrested again during an overnight raid of her house in the West Bank & was accused of "inciting terrorism", and she is still held captive without any charges or trial.

Free Ahed Tamimi and I hope one day that Palestinian children can live thier childhood in the peace, freedom & joy that every child on this earth deserves.
