The Dark Side of Humanity
30 X 30 cm - Acrylic on canvas
Inspired by Pink Floyd’s iconic The Dark Side of the Moon album cover, this artwork explores the emotional and psychological toll of war and displacement. A tent, symbolizing both refuge and confinement, stands in place of the iconic prism. The rainbow, a metaphor for the colorful aspects of life, like family, career, friendships, and dreams, enters the tent, only to emerge as a single white line, representing how displacement reduces life to mere survival, destroying all other diverse & joyful aspects of life. Yet inside the tent, colorful patterns & Palestinian embroidery, weave through the darkness, a reminder that refugees carry their heritage, identity, and resilience with them, wherever they go, along with the flicker of dreams still alive.
